For teens who sustain a peaceful concussion, more doss down may not be better - and may be worse - in aiding retrieval from the brain injury, different research suggests. The researchers compared five days of severe rest to the traditionally recommended age or two of rest, followed by a regular return to normal activities as symptoms disappear. The Medical College of Wisconsin researchers found no significant leftovers in remainder or mental functioning between teens who rested five days and those who rested one to two days medication. What's more, those children assigned to five days of unsympathetic residuum reported more symptoms that lasted longer.
And "Being told to remain for five days increased your rating of true symptoms in the opening few days and increased fervent symptoms every heyday for the next 10 days," said be ahead researcher Dr Danny Thomas, an auxiliary professor of pediatrics and predicament medicine at the medical college manual. Physical symptoms included headache, nausea, vomiting, rest problems, dizziness, visual problems, fatigue, sympathy to graceful or sound, and numbness and tingling.

"We should be cautious about automatically stately excessive restrictions of activity following concussion. We should follow the prevailing guidelines, which recommend an individualized propose to to concussion management".
